We are an association set up in 2005 under French Law, with the specific aim of helping English speakers to integrate into the French way of life through mutual help in dealing with aspects of French bureaucracy, numerous and varied social events and the provision of good and effective French language courses. We now have around 80 members, British, French and Dutch, who live mainly in the Vimoutiers (61) and Livarot (14) areas as well as some in dept. 27. There is an active social programme, which includes things like regular coffee mornings both in Vimoutiers and in members' homes which include book, CD and DVD swaps. We usually have some other events each month which include walks, visits, quiz evenings, musical evenings, a car treasure hunt, an annual bar-be-cue and an annual Christmas lunch. French lessons, led by a delightful and well-qualified French lady, take place weekly on Thursdays and cater for all levels of ability from complete beginners to more advanced speakers. There is currently a charge of €9 per two-hour session, paid termly in advance. For many members who had felt a little isolated in their new country, the Association has provided the opportunity to make new friends, to receive support and to exchange useful information. We have an annual subscription level of 24€ for a single membership or 36€ for a couple. Please feel free to browse the site.
